Getting Started
Install
npm install discouicapacitor
npx cap sync
Create App (CLI)
npx discouicapacitor create-app
If you install the package globally, you can also use:
dui create-app
The CLI will prompt for app name, icon, theme, accent color, and a starter page template.
You can also run unattended with flags:
npx discouicapacitor create-app \
--name "Disco App" \
--dir disco-app \
--app-id com.disco.app \
--theme auto \
--accent "#D80073" \
--page "single page" \
--icon ./icon.svg \
--description "DiscoUI Capacitor app" \
--signing \
--apk-action \
--git-init \
--yes \
--no-install
Use --yes to skip prompts and accept defaults for missing values.
Use --no-signing if you want to skip Android signing setup.
Minimal Usage
import { DiscoApp } from 'discouicapacitor';
const app = new DiscoApp();
app.launch(document.querySelector('disco-frame'));
Local Config (optional)
Place a disco.config.json in your public root (for example: www/disco.config.json).
{
"theme": "dark",
"accent": "#D80073",
"font": "SegoeUI",
"splash": {
"mode": "manual",
"color": "#008a00",
"icon": "./favicon.svg",
"showProgress": true
}
}
You can also pass the same config programmatically during initialization. See Configuration.
Vibe coding
Prebuilt "vibe coding" instructions and downloadable system-instruction files are available for fast prototyping with DiscoUI (UI-only) or scaffolding apps with DiscoUI Capacitor.
- For details, see the pages under
docs/vibe-coding/in this DiscoUI repository. - Copilot (local file): download the
docs/vibe-coding/copilot-instructions.mdfile from the DiscoUICapacitor repository and use it as a system instruction in Copilot Chat. - Google AI Studio: download the
docs/vibe-coding/google-ai-studio-instructions.mdfile from the DiscoUICapacitor repository and upload it to Google AI Studio under Advanced → System instructions.
